Please, please, please, please, please, please, please sign Danny Markov. He is one of the most fierce competitors in the NHL. The guy hits, is defensively sound, can play a little PP point, is a team leader and he won't be expensive. He wants more than Detroit's offer-2.5 mil/year but big deal! Offer him 4 years 17 mil. and I bet he takes the Islander offer.
Also if Bryan Berard could be had for a reasonable price(1 mil./year base salary w/game played incentives that could bring it up to 3 mil. a year), I think it would make sense for both party's.
Imagine if McCabe waives his NTC and the Isles throw a 2nd pick at Toronto to unload the salary and we can have the two Bryans back! ...causing havoc on the blue line and on the Long Island bar scene. They were best friends. Maybe if we sign Berard first, we can talk to McCabe about coming back to Long Island w/ his old 'roomy'. Though 7.25 mil. PLUS incentives. Jeeeeez!

Also I would really like Andy Sutton, that would be a great signing.
Speaking about bringing back old d-man, how about giving Brent Sopel a 2nd chance to redeem himself?
